After winning a close matchup against Rocky Mount on Wednesday night. Northern Nash faces a Fike Golden Demons team that is fighting for a playoff berth. There only chance is to win and get the automatic Championship berth that comes with winning the conference tournament.
In the first quarter it was back and forth as both Northern and Fike kept running up and down the court and trading baskets.
In the 2nd quarter, Fike started to pull away a bit, however when Coach Drake sensed his team was getting rattled he called a timeout. Out of the timeout, Northern Nash was able to take the lead and not look back.
In the 2nd half it was more of the same as Northern Nash was able to get stops and turnovers when needed and then able to turn those into points. The final score was 74-64.
Coach Drake said “Our team battled tonight and once again they overcame adversity”.
The playoffs start this coming week and it’s a win or go home mentality from here forward.
