It’s senior night at Northern Nash and as everyone knows that means Rocky Mount Gryphons come to visit.
Rocky Mount wants nothing more to beat Northern Nash and ruin their senior night. In the first few minutes of the game, it looked like that they were well on their way. One of the things that helped Northern Nash come back in this game is mistakes made by Rocky Mount. Rocky Mount’s coach Mike Gainey has this to say “When you turn it over and miss feee throws things like that happen.”
However, Coach Drake saw that his guys were not in the right frame of mind. He called a timeout and got his guys settled down. Out of the timeout, Northern Nash was able to start making baskets and then once they took the lead it was no looking back for Northern.
Northern Nash defeated Rocky Mount 75-61. This win gives Northern Nash the 2 seed for the big east conference tournament.
Coach Drake said “Both teams came to play and our team had a gutsy performance.” Now Northern Nash is going to look to win the Big East Championship this upcoming week.
Northern Nash will play the winner of Rocky Mount vs Southern Nash on Wednesday night.
