Coming off an overtime victory against their arch-rival Carolina on Saturday night, Duke welcomed the #7 Florida State Seminoles to Cameron Indoor Stadium, hungry to keep their momentum alive.
It took Duke a little while to get going, as FSU’s defense gave the Blue Devils a fit. However, during the under 16 media timeout, Coach K drew up several plays and implemented several changes. Coach K’s plan worked, as Duke was able to go on a run that held FSU scoreless for three minutes.
Midway through the first half, Duke committed several turnovers that allowed FSU to capitalize on them and gain momentum. Suddenly, it was a close game, with Duke leading by a single point heading into the second half.
In the 2nd half, it was more of the same as Duke and Florida State traded baskets, keeping the score tight.
Down the stretch, Duke was able to hit their stride and their free throws and defeated Florida State 70-65.
